PD: Man arrested for Tempe sexual assault

TEMPE, AZ – Tempe police have arrested the suspect they believe is responsible for Thursday’s sexual assault near Arizona Mills Mall.
Tempe police said 18-year-old Vincent Thompson was arrested in Phoenix for robbery, aggravated assault and kidnapping.
Officials were able to identify Thomson as the possible suspect through tips received from the public.
Tempe police said a woman reported that she was walking in the area of Baseline and Priest between 3:30 and 4:00 p.m. on Thursday when a man came up to her from behind, pulled a weapon out, robbed her and then assaulted her.
The woman filed the report with police on Friday, according to authorities.
