Here is a nice piece on another Valley dining tradition–Riazzi’s. I shoveled down many a meal there growing up (at first in my childhood, back in the days when it was on Van Buren, across from the Erotica Motel. Both institutions sadly displaced by construction of the 202 freeway). If you are longing for Italian-American comfort food, you should do as many Monti’s customers–keep it in the Tempe family– and observe the ‘rotation’; pick a day with us and a day with them.

Suck it, Olive Garden!

Lucy is often in the kitchen, too, so you still get mama’s cooking at this, one of the Valley’s oldest family-owned restaurants – 62 years in the business.
