PHOENIX — A new boutique hotel is set to open in Old Town Scottsdale next month at the former home of iconic restaurant Don & Charlie’s.
Senna House will be available for stays beginning Dec. 15, according to a press release.
The hotel, located at 75th Street and Camelback Road, will feature 169 rooms and a Mediterranean coastal restaurant concept, Cala, that is planned to open in early 2022.
The six-story property also has a variety of suite options that provide views of downtown Scottsdale, Camelback Mountain and more.
"We are pleased to debut Senna House Scottsdale, which brings an authentic blend of desert modern design and lifestyle luxury hospitality to downtown Scottsdale," Tyler Kent, managing principal at investor Opwest Partners, said in the release.
Senna House sits at the previous location of steakhouse Don & Charlie’s, which closed in April 2019 after owner Don Carson agreed to sell the land.
The restaurant opened in 1981 and became a favorite hangout for locals and of ballplayers, managers and coaches spending spring training in the Valley.
The memorabilia on display was dedicated to a who's who of famous athletes.
Carson's family owned the property for 50 years.
Reservations and more information on Senna House, a Curio Collection by Hilton, can be found online.
